Look Familiar?

This should just be a garden blog. Guess what I planted this time. TOMATOS! Do you want to hear 2 of my favorite tomato "quotes"?
  1. Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is knowing not to put it in a fruit salad.
  2. If a tomato is a fruit does that make ketchup a smoothie?

My supplies- thanks to my Ma and Pa

Soon this will be juicy and rad...I mean red
I'm preparing them to grow big and strong

My trusty planters

Ok. Remember how I was never going to plant Spaghetti Squash ever again? Here it is- again. Don't worry, this time I gave it A LOT of room. I had to put it in Kevin's shop space, I hope he's not planning on building it this year.

I solemnly swear that I'll eat these this time, cross my heart

Hayley- I gave these a new home, I hope you don't mind

P.S. I am also growing another plant. It's growing up my house and doubles in size every day. Please come and kill it for me. I'm sure I heard it whispering "Feed me Seymour."

It's Not What It Looks Like

Lookin' Good! Yeah, I hear that a lot... In my head... Where I say it to myself. I was told in church once, to give myself a complement every time I look into a mirror. So, that's what I do, but that is not the point of this post. The point is to share with you a little something I noticed today at work. You're dying to know, I can tell, so here it is.

I got a lot of complements today. Let me rephrase, I got a lot of complements today on things about me that are fake. Here are some examples-

  • "Hey Shalee, you look cute in those glasses. I've never seen you wear glasses before." (I don't actually wear glasses, I have a pair with clear glass lenses that I just happen to look AMAZING in)

  • "Shalee has nice teeth" (Those who really know me know one of my teeth is fake, one that you can easily see, but I'm not going to tell you which one)

  • "Wow Shalee, those shorts look good on you" (Fake butt, enough said)

  • "Shalee, why do you look so tan?" (Ok, not really a complement, but it was Kevin who said it. I take his even noticing my bronzer as a complement)
Did you enjoy that? I'm still not sure if I'm offended or pleased. One thing I do know for sure, a complement is a nice thing! Keep 'um coming and I promse I'll try to do the same :)

A teaser...

One day at a time, that's how we do it. Today I finished putting everything away in the kitchen. I'm working on it, but you'll have to be patient with me for more pictures.

Kevin is leaving me this week on his big New York trip. I'm hoping that will give me some time and motivation to get this DONE! The problem is I'm tired, tired of boxes, tired of trash everywhere, tired of making decisions, tired of SPENDING MONEY!!!

On the brighter side, have I mentioned how much I am LOVING this house? Now that we live inside and not in the garage I can really sink my teeth in. It's amazing the homey feeling you get when you finally set up your TV/computer/couch. Yay, I'm so American!
