A Baby Shower

As you can probably guess, this last weekend I had my Baby Shower (thrown by my lovely sister Tahnia)! I can tell you right now, it was so much fun! There was a lot of time, money, and planning, soooo much planning, that Tahnia put into it. The theme was "Camp Baby Sykes."

We had a Chili Bar, where you fill up a bag of Fritos
with chili and assorted topping for a delicious treat.
We also had a make your own Trail Mix station for munchies to go!

5...4...3...2 More Months

It is AMAZING how time works. I already feel like I've been pregnant forever, but I also feel like we just moved into our house. Alas, I've only been pregnant for seven months, but we have owned our house for over a year now! Have I ever mentioned how much I LOVE this house!?! I really do, I tell Kevin all the time. It's amazing to think how much work we've put into this place-

Took out the popcorn ceiling

Repainted all the walls

New Carpet

New Light Fixtures

New paint colors

New built-in Microwave

New Heat Pump

New Sprinkler Systm

Ran new cables/ added TV to 2 rooms

That all sounds like $$$$ to me.... geesh! And we sill have a list of to-do's we'd like to accomplish. I'm so glad we've gotten so much done, especially since I'm going to be having some family over this weekend who will be seeing my home for the first time. Speaking of which, I still have a lot of cleaning to do, so I'm going to leave you now. Have a great week everyone!

Stuff That Happened In My 30th Week

Awkward bits of life this past week:

• Calling a TJMaxx in California only to have the phone answered by a real life "Surfer Dude"... Who puts me on hold and transfers me to a "Valley Girl." It was.. like.. totally.. awesome!

• My Belly Button that is now at full extension. 

• Trying to put a band-aid on my little toe. Apparently I'm to big for that now, good thing I have a Mom to help me.

• Getting "crop dusted" by the same old lady at the store, not once, but twice.

• All the sounds my body makes.

• **** * *** ****** *** ******* ** ***** *** (this is for all the things that are a little too awkward to share)

• Going to a Ward Party and having everyone think that the desert I brought was made by another lady. Then having them find out it was me because the other lady had to keep correcting them when they asked her.

• Having my cup refilled by the waiter every time I took a sip... Good customer service, or awkward stalking?

• Belly flashing strangers, because even some of my maternity tops are too short.

• Yelling "OWWW" at random moments because my baby doesn't know how to be professional and not kick Mommy so hard while she's at work.

• Having people tell me I look tired all the time... Thanks for that.

11 Weeks Left Folks

Hello Everyone! This week I thought I'd do something fun. A little interview. So I decided to interview myself and Kevin. I tried to think of some good questions... honestly, I tried. Here is my attempt to delve into the mind of a pregnant lady and a Kevin. Spoiler alert, we don't really agree.

Delivery Date: 1 Week early

Who will he look like: Me

Weight: 8 lbs 3 oz

How long until he has hair: I'm optimistic  he'll be born with some!

Will he have any birthmarks: mmmm, no...

Who will he pee on first: My Dad

Will he have baby acne: Probably

Kevin

Delivery Date: Whenever I'm induced or Late

Who will he look like: Kevin

Weight: 7 lbs 2 oz 

How long until he has hair: 9 Months

Will he have any birthmarks: Of course not

Who will he pee on first: Shalee

Will he have baby acne: No.. of course not.. I'm not going to have a kid with acne

So, we'll see who is right. I hope for my sake we both are. I hope to deliver a week early and have a 7 lb 2 oz kid. Also, to not be the first to get peed on. Life... It's just full of surprises, so I'll just have to wait.
